55 Year Old Man Assaulted In St George’s

A 55 year old Southampton man was treated at the hospital for lacerations to his ear after an assault in the area of the ‘Unfinished Church’ in St George’s.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 6:30pm on Tuesday, January 7th first responders attended a reported assault on Kent Street in St. George’s in the vicinity of the ‘Unfinished Church’ and spoke with an injured 55 year old Southampton man.

“Details remain unclear regarding the incident; however the Southampton resident was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of a laceration to his ear and another behind his ear.

“His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this reported assault are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.”
