FA Challenge Cup Sunday Football Results
A number of football games took place across the island on Sunday [Jan 19] with footballers in the FA Challenge Cup, all seeing action with North Village Rams, Dandy Town Hornets, Devonshire Cougars, Hamilton Parish, Southampton Rangers all recording wins.
North Village Rams 3 PHC Zebras 2
At the Bernard Park, the home team North Village Rams went ahead of the visiting PHC Zebras in the 25 own goal, Pierre Smith doubled the lead for the home team in the 39th minute, Cecoy Robinson pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 78th minute, but the North Village Rams two goal lead was restored when Keishen Bean scored, but Malachi Jones pulled the PHC Zebras within one in the 90th minute. time ran out on the visitors as the North Village Rams advanced to the next round.
Wolves 0 Dandy Town Hornets 6
At the Devonshire Rec. K’Wonde Lathan gave the visiting Dandy Town Hornets a 1 – 0 lead over Wolves in the 13th minute, Fabian Frankson doubled the lead ten minutes later and when Angelo Simmons scored in the 31st minute the Dandy Town Hornets held a 3 – 0 lead. Lathan scored his second goal of the game in the 61st minute to extend the visitors lead to 4 – 0, before completing his hat-trick in the 73rd minute. Temiko Wilson closed out the scoring for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 89th minute as they defeated heir Premier Division opponents Wolves 5 – 0.
X’Road’s 1 St. George’s Colts 1
At the Garrison Field, the visiting St. George’s Colts went ahead when Wesley Stovell found the back of the net, but Cameron Perinchief equalized for X’Road’s as the two teams will have to do it all over again.
Devonshire Cougars 5 Devonshire Colts 1
At the Devonshire Rec. Mark Steede gave the Devonshire Cougars the lead in the 9th minute, only to have Kyle Jones equalize for the Devonshire Colts one minute later. Moses Steede put the Devonshire Cougars back in front in the 33rd minute, before Mark Steede scored his second goal of the game in the 34th minute. Drewonde Bascome made it 4 – 1 to the Devonshire Cougars when he scored in the 38th minute, Bascome would score again in the 56th minute as the Devonshire Cougars defeated the Devonshire Colts 5 – 1.
Hamilton Parish 2 Flanagan’s Onion’s 1
At the Wellington Oval, Hamilton Parish came from behind and defeated fellow Premier Division opponents Flanagan’s Onion’s 2 – 1. Kevin Ronaldson gave the Flanagan Onion’s the lead in the 18th minute, but Donavan Thompson would equalize for Hamilton Parish in the 48th minute. Shayne Hollis would score what proved to be the winner for Hamilton Parish in the 55th minute for them to advance.
Southampton Rangers 5 St. David’s 0
At the Southampton Oval, Dion Stovell led the Southampton Rangers to a 5 – 0 win over fellow Premier Division opponents St. David’s. the home team also got goals from Stephen Astwood, Keedai Astwood and Ezekiel Stoneham.
