First, Premier Division Weekend Football Results

A number of football games took place across the island this weekend with St. George’s Colts, Robin Hood, and Somerset Trojans all recording wins, with Robin Hood storming over the Paget Lions in a 13 – 1 victory.

First Division

Somerset Eagles 0 St. George’s Colts 1

At the Somerset Cricket Club in this First Division match David Signor scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute to earn the St. George’s Colts a 1 – 0 win over the Somerset Eagles.

Robin Hood 12 Paget Lions 1

At the BAA Field, thirteen goals were scored with Robin Hood emerging 12 – 1 winner over the Paget Lions. League Leading goalscorer Jesse Kirkland found the back of the net four times to lead Robin Hood to victory, while Miles Brewer scored twice.

Also putting their name on the scoresheet was Alex Martin, Darran Reitze, Teddy Terceira, Marcelos Thomas, Mathew Watson and goalkeeper Jason Simons who scored from the spot. Robert Lee scored the lone goal for the Paget Lions.

Premier Division

Somerset Trojans 3 Hamilton Parish 1

Just as they did four days ago against the same opposition the Somerset Trojans took an early lead at the Somerset Cricket Club against Hamilton Parish. A cross in the 7th minute was headed home by Leo Burgess from close range as he was unmarked on the back post with Hamilton Parish goalkeeper Nigel Burgess not able to keep the ball out, however in the 33rd minute Lorenzo Simmons equalized for Hamilton Parish also scoring from a cross as the teams went to the break locked at 1 – 1.

In the second half Deunte Darrell restored the Somerset Trojans lead when he scored in the 52nd minute, Darrell would find the back of the net for a second time when he scored in the 86th minute as the Somerset Trojans moved to the top of the Premier Division Standings with the 3 – 1 win.
