Mirrors Free Workshop For Parents & Mentors

January 14, 2014

The Mirrors Programme will conduct a free workshop this weekend specifically designed to motivate and empower parents and adults in their interaction with their children and youth in our community.

This workshop is also open to coaches, youth workers and mentors who want to improve the outcome of their work with young people in our community.

Mirrors Programme Coordinator, Kimberley Jackson stated, “The Parent Workshop is an interactive programme which runs for two and a half days beginning on Friday, January 17 at the Police Recreation Club in Prospect. Participants will explore thought-provoking questions and concepts aimed at developing a clear outlook of what can be accomplished and how to make powerful choices. ”

Ms Jackson added, “The workshop benefits for participants are a renewed appreciation for self and what it means to be a parent or mentor. It will promote new ideas for working effectively with young people and developing confidence in producing improved results.”

Full attendance is required for both sessions, which will begin promptly– Friday, January 17 from 6 p.m. – 9p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, January 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Participants will receive free workshop materials, continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. To register please contact Jeanene Todd or Joanne Woods at 294-9291 or email jvtodd@gov.bm to register. Registration is limited.
