Downed Utility Pole, Traffic Diversion In Smiths

[Updated] As of 10.20am this morning [Feb 3] traffic is being diverted on South Road in Smiths [by Harrington Hundreds grocery store] as a tractor trailer pulled down a utility pole.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 10am on Monday, February 3rd police received a report that a tractor trailer pulled down a utility pole in the South Road, Smith’s parish area near Harrington Hundreds grocery store.

“As a result, traffic travelling west from the John Smith’s Bay area is being diverted up Harrington Hundreds Road, while traffic travelling east from McGall’s Hill will continue along Knapton Hill.

“Motorists are advised to be aware of these diversions and to avoid the area if possible until the situation can be rectified.”

Update 1.12pm: A police spokesperson said, “Motorists, though restricted to one lane, are now being allowed to travel through the South Road, Smith’s parish area near Harrington Hundreds grocery store where a tractor trailer apparently downed a utility pole around 10am today.”
