Rider Collides With Van, Left In Serious Condition
[Updated] A 59 year old man is tonight [Feb 17] listed in serious condition with serious head injuries after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a parked van on Cox’s Hill Road in Pembroke.
A Police spokesperson said, “Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 8.29pm on Monday evening on Cox’s Hill Road. It appears that a 59 year old Smiths man was traveling west on a motorcycle, when he collided with a van that was parked in the west bound carriageway.
“The Smiths man was taken to the hospital where he is listed in serious condition with serious head injuries. The road has been blocked off while traffic collision investigators and Forensic Support Unit carry out their investigation.”

Update 11.43am Feb 18: A Police spokesperson said, “Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 8.29pm on Monday evening on Cox Hill Road in Pembroke.
“It appears that a 59 year old Smiths man was traveling west on a motorcycle, when he collided with a van that was parked in the west bound carriageway.
“The Smiths man was then taken to the hospital with head injuries. The 59 year old man later that evening signed a release form and checked out of the hospital. Inquiries into the matter are ongoing.”
