  1. JUNK YARD DOG says:

The Bermuda coral slate roof can only take so much water before it starts to become water logged / saturate and leak.

The Bermuda roof slate has similar properties to a sponge.

To function properly the Bermuda slate roof requires the roof inner and outer surfaces to go through a drying out process between showers .

Air comes in under the eves to dry the slate from the underside ,the roof vent slots expel the hot air during the summer months and can/may let in water during storms if eves are closed up with Paladian eve trim which prevents the vent to function correctly by exhaling.

Contrary to popular belief low pitched Bermuda roofs are not blown of they are sucked of, this is caused by up draft during hurricanes and tornadoes because there or an imbalance of the wind pressures.

low roof pitch catches less water, gets moldy quicker, slate more likely to crack under the downward pressure .

Why does a plane fly, same principal as low angle roof.

Many water tanks are at, or past, the point of over flow,I removed by siphon

( Do not rely on your water pump you may over heat the motor and burn it out)

three feet of water to relieve the pressure from our tank, do check your tank 4″over pipe for blockages during a rain storm.

Heavy thunder can crack a Bermuda house roof .
