Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Drug Charges

February 7, 2014

A 31-year-old woman elected to be tried in Magistrates Court when she appeared this morning [Feb 7] on a variety of drug charges.

Marketa Raynor pleaded not guilty to six charges involving the importation and possession with intent to supply of 91.6 grams of cocaine freebase; 10.58 grams of 60% cocaine hydrochloride; and 98.37 grams of cannabis.

The charges stem from a Police and Customs action in December 2013 at the Airport. Senior Magistrate Archie Warner was told by Crown Prosecutor Lyle Ricketts that the total street value of the three illegal drugs was just over $36,000.

The Senior Magistrate granted Ms Raynor $10,000 bail, required a Surety, and set trial for 15th May.
