Ball Hockey: Flames Defeat Golden Seals

hoc140326An eleven goal thriller took place at the PCC Hockey Rink in Bermuda Ball Hockey League action as the California Golden Seals fell 6 – 5 to the Atlanta Flames.

The Atlanta Flames jumped out to a 3 – 0 lead at the end of the First Period. Matt Benson scored twice, while Tom Washington added the other.

The Second period belonged to the California Golden Seals as they scored three unanswered times. Adam Chevis, Chris Coleman and Ronnie Durzus all found the back if the net.

The Third and Final Period saw five goals scored, Jace Cowan scored for the Atlanta Flames in the first minute making the score 4 – 3 and that lead stood until it was three minutes remaining.

At the 17:15 minute mark, Jeff Loper made it 5 – 3 to the Atlanta Flames and then forty-five seconds later Loper scored again to make it 6 – 3 to the Atlanta Flames. With 19:32 gone off the clock Chevis scored his second goal of the game and then with 19:51 gone off the clock Chevis completed his hat trick to pull the California Golden Seals within one with nine seconds to go, but time ran out before they could get the equalizer.
