Bermuda Birds Art Competition For Students

The Bermuda Audubon Society invites students to submit artwork or photographs featuring Bermuda birds, particularly Bermuda’s native and endemic species. This competition is open to all Middle and Secondary School students in Bermuda.

The flyer said, “Artwork/photographs must be the independent work of the student and completed within the 2013-14 academic year. Judging will be based on artistic merit and how well the artist has captured the essential characteristics of the bird[s].”

Category Prizes $200 each:

  • Best Painting/Drawing
  • Best Sculpture/Mixed Media
  • Best Photograph

Age Group Prizes $100 winner, $50 runner-up

  • Middle School [Years 7-9]
  • Lower Senior [Years 10-11]
  • Upper Senior [Years 12-13]

Application forms can be downloaded from here or here or can be obtained from school art teachers.

Artwork should be delivered to Bermuda Society of Arts, City Hall during opening hours [10am to 4pm] from 2-4 June 2014. Final deadline for submissions is 4pm on Wednesday 4 June.

Judging will take place on 5 June. Entries will be exhibited in the Bermuda Society of Arts Gallery at City Hall from 6-24 June 2014.

Artwork can be collected from the gallery from 10am to noon on 25 June.
