Man Charged After Friday’s Firearm Incident
A 23 year old man appeared in Magistrates Court this morning [Mar 17] following the incident on Friday night in which a person allegedly shot a gun while trespassing at a home in Hamilton parish.
Taariq Clarke was charged with trespassing in a residence and stealing a cellphone while armed with a firearm on 14th March in Hamilton Parish. He was also charged with discharging a firearm on that same date.
Clarke — who did not appear to be visibly injured — was remanded into custody. As the charges can only be heard in the Supreme Court, he did not have to enter a plea.
The police on the scene late Friday night:
After the incident, a police spokesperson said, “Around 9:15pm on Friday, March 14th police officers responded to a reported armed burglary at a North Shore Road, Hamilton parish residence.
“It appears that around 8:50pm two men gained entry into the home, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded personal possessions from the occupants.
“During the incident one of the intruders apparently shot and injured himself. Both offenders fled the scene shortly after that. There were no other injuries reported.
“A male subsequently attended the hospital and was treated for a suspected gunshot wound. He was then discharged and arrested in connection with this reported armed burglary.
“He remains in police custody and a court appearance is anticipated in due course. Police are continuing inquiries to locate and arrest the second suspect.”

And just imagine if the alleged weapon had discharged and injured or killed the occupant.
I have no sympathy for this fool and his partner.
This is a serious matter when one allegedly goes armed to intimidate and rob.
