Health Department Holding Childbirth Classes

April 16, 2014

The Department of Health is getting set to host a series of childbirth education classes through May and June, 2014, helping to promote the well-being of both mothers and their new babies.

A spokesperson said, “It’s fun, educational, and free. All classes are taught by experienced health care professionals. Loose, comfortable, and practical clothing is suggested for floor exercises and techniques. It is our goal to promote the well-being of mothers and their babies and to ensure that you have a healthy pregnancy. Bring your support person and a lunch and learn new things together for yourself and your baby.

“All classes should be attended if you wish to qualify for the tour of the maternity ward and a completion certificate. Classes will be held at the Department of Health [Women's Clinic Entrance] at 67 Victoria Street in Hamilton.

“If you have questions or wish to register, please contact Debora Oriol, RN, via telephone at 278-6441 or via email at dloriol@gov.bm.”
