Digicel Advises Customers Of Govt. Fee Increase
Digicel said they would like to inform their customers that the monthly Government License Fee for a mobile line has increased from $7.00 to $7.35, effective Tuesday, April 1, 2014. This official 5% increase from Government was gazetted on Friday, March 28, 2014.
Digicel postpaid customers will see the Government License Fee increase to $7.35 on their April bills. Prepaid customers will see a $0.24 deduction from their daily balances, increasing from the current $0.23 daily deduction.
“We appreciate our customers’ understanding as we implement the License fee increases from Government,” stated Digicel Bermuda CEO, Wayne Caines.
“It is very important to us that our customers know exactly what is happening and where these fees are going, which is back into our Government.”

Come on Government of Bermuda. $7.00 a month is more than enough for having a cell phone.
I thought they should have increased the fee to $10 per phone per month. We need more revenue generation. Everyone and their grandma has a cell phone, that increase would bring in some much needed funds to pay down our enormous deficit. My house alone (2 apts) with four adults and two children would amount to $720 from one household, imagine that! We got enough breaks under the PLP and look at were it got us. Not to mention cell phones are a luxury not a necessity, folks! So if you don’t want to pay taxes for it then stick to a landline. I’m sure BTC would appreciate!
Does not superise me! i got that message and also my insurance from Argus going up a little more to almost 5 percent..With me bringing home less and less, i’ll be lucky if i have money to get buried one day! just tell the wife wrap me in a carpet and dump me in the ocean.LOL
So PLP spends all our money, and now every last time OBA tries to cut back on something Bermudians MOAN MOAN & MOAN.
Get over it and admit that we are broke. We have to pay to make up for the brainless PLP who blamed everything on Whites while spending all our future and buying themselves nice big houses.
