Gilbert Lamb Fun Day To Be Held In St. David’s
St David’s County Cricket Club will be hosting its annual Gilbert Lamb Day at Lords, St. David’s on April 18th to celebrate Good Friday.
The event — which features the popular Mohawk Grand Prix — will kick off at 11.00am with President Otis J Minors remarks, and then children’s races will follow as well as a host of other events including Honky Lamb’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, Cracker’s Cracker Challenge, Delby’s Wheelbarrow Race and others.
At 4:00pm the Pedal Bike and Mohawk Grand Prix Go-Kart Races start at St. David’s Lighthouse. Registration for both will take place on Wednesday evening from 7 – 8pm, and Friday morning from 10 – 11pm at the Cricket club.
Some of the vendors scheduled to attend include Linda Pitcher, Delores “Mootsie” Foggo, Ashley’s Lemonade, Mark Tankard’s Ribs N Chicken, Sensational Delight and others.

A spokesperson for the Club said, “We would like to inform attendees that no parking will be allowed in front of the Club, parking around the field and surrounding area of the Club’s property will be at your own risk.
“Entry to the Club grounds will be via the Battery Road Gate (Top Gate) and departure from the club will be through the Club’s parking lot and out through the main gate onto Great Bay Road.
“There will be additional parking in the St. David’s Battery Area, the St. David’s Primary P1 and P2 grounds, St. David’s Post Office, Orange Hole (just off Texas Road).
“There will be no parking allowed on either side of the roads leading to and from Cashew City or along the Great Bay Road or Texas Road. During the Pedal Bike and Mohawk Grand Prix Go-Kart Races the Bermuda Police Force and Course Marshal’s will be present to monitor the race course and the Club grounds.
“We ask that everyone co-operate when requested not only for the Public’s safety but that of our participants. Parents and/or Guardians, you are encouraged to listen attentively throughout the day for announcements from DJ Jugglin Jason. Also, a donation towards the Club’s Building Fund will be accepted at the gate.
“We look forward to having our family, friends and guests at Lords once again and trust you will have a safe and wonderful time.”

The Big Kite has not gone up in years
I know it was deemed unsafe due to people not heeding the announcers request to clear the space so they could get it up safely. So it wasn’t even attempted to get it up, not sure how it will go this year though.
