Port Royal Staff Member Extinguishes Car Fire

At approximately 10:00am today [Apr 10], the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Pompano Beach Road, and on their arrival they discovered that a Port Royal Golf Course staff member had extinguished the fire.

Fire Service spokesperson Leonard Davis said, “The vehicle was reported to have visible smoke and flames emitting from the engine compartment.”

The Fire Service responded to the incident with one vehicle staffed with four firefighters. Prior to their arrival, a Port Royal Golf Course staff member quickly extinguished the fire using a dry chemical powder extinguisher.

Lt. Davis said that no one was hurt as a result of this incident, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
