Five Young Men To Compete In 2014 Beautillion

May 6, 2014

The 2014 Alpha Beautillion is set to take place on Sunday, June 8 at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts.

The five young men competing in this year’s Beautillion are Zack Kawaley-Lathan of Saltus Grammar School, Torian Hill of the Bermuda Institute, Khaleb Tota of Warwick Academy, Ryan Robinson-Perenchief of The Berkeley Institute, and Caleb Darrell of CedarBridge Academy.

Hosted by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, this year’s event will see the five young men competing for a chance to boost their education funds in a “male rite of passage ceremony where top high school male students demonstrate their oratorical ability, talent, and community service activities as they compete for scholarships.”

The 2014 Alpha Beautillion will take place at the Ruth Seaton James Centre on June 8, 2014, with the doors opening at 5.00pm and the show getting underway at 5.30pm.

Tickets to the event cost $25 at regular price and $50 for patrons, and can be purchased at People’s Pharmacy or by contacting beautillion@bermudaalpha.bm.

This program is awesome. Many young men have come through this rites of passage program over the years. In a time when everyone is talking about the bad it is good to see young men focused on the positive.

    congrats to all

I attended the Beautillion over the past few years. Fantastic show from each of the young men involved. More impressive, however, is their community involvement in the lead up the the show. It’s great to see some coverage of the event early. Hopefully some people are inspired to attend.

Well done to the men of Alpha and their young mentees!
