Ballet Black’s Johnson To Teach In Bermuda
When the sensational dance company from London, Ballet Black, participated in this year’s Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts, it gave an opportunity for Bermuda Civic Ballet’s director Coral Waddell to discuss future plans with principal soloist Damien Johnson.
The charismatic dancer subsequently cleared his schedule and will be coming to Bermuda next month to teach ballet at Civic’s summer school and dance in the ensuing performances, August 8th and 9th, at the Earl Cameron Theatre, City Hall.
Damien Johnson will be joined by Ballet teacher Laura Hussey from London and Bermuda’s own James Waddell, who is presently under contract to the Royal Ballet of Flanders, and Modern Dance teachers Anastasia Soroczynski and Brian Flynn from Rioult in New York.
The summer school runs from July 7th to July 31st. Dancers from 12 years to adult and interested choreographers are asked to contact cwaddell@northrock.bm
