$4,000 Engineering Scholarship Being Offered

June 24, 2014

After a period of dormancy, the Bermuda Association of Professional Engineers [BAPE] is working to invigorate engineering on the island via a $4,000 scholarship being offered to a student pursuing or considering pursuing a degree in the fields of mechanical, electrical, civil, environmental, chemical, or industrial engineering.

There is no GPA requirement for applicants, leaving all Bermudian students headed towards an education in engineering eligible to apply for the scholarship; students must only be enrolled and accepted into their chosen program by the time of their scholarship applicant interview.

The scholarship’s description says, “While each candidate’s ability to meet an adequate academic standard will be assessed, all engineering students are encouraged to apply as the scholarship selection process will also consider the passion and interest shown by the student in contributing to the field of engineering here in Bermuda and globally.”

To apply, students must submit an essay describing why they are pursuing an engineering education, what specific field they will be immersing themselves in, and how they plan to utilize that education both locally and globally, along with previous school transcripts, proof of Bermudian or PRC status, and an acceptance letter from the engineering program that they will be entering.

The Bermuda Association of Professional Engineers is an engineering association dedicated to promoting the advancement of engineering here in Bermuda.
