Local Photographer To Present Unique Exhibit
Local photographer Earl Jones is getting set to present “The Impossible Project,” a three week show at the Bermuda Society of Art, opening on June 6 from 5.00pm through 7.00pm.
Mr. Jones said, “The Impossible Project is a series of gallery style photographic emulsions, mostly of salient portraits, using Polaroid film manufactured by Impossible. These analog images convey contemporary stories and reminisce about simpler times.”
“I have had an interest in photography since I got my first SLR camera at age 12. I started shooting for my high school year book as well as a local equestrian organization.
“After high school, I drifted away from photography for a while as I didn’t really enjoy the photo printing process. It wasn’t until digital cameras developed I got back into photography in a serious way. I acquired my first digital SLR camera in 2007; since then, photography has once again become a passion.”
“The flexibility of being able to shoot digitally encouraged me to experiment more. I enjoy many types of photography, including landscape, portrait, architecture, street, and night. I have a special interest in fine art, macro, still life, and conceptual motifs.
“The Impossible Project has allowed me to embrace the foundation of photography, using limited frames to achieve the shot you like without special lighting or post processing.”
