Minister of Home Affairs, Sen. Michael Fahy hosted a reception for the participants of the Department of Workforce Development’s Summer Employment Programme at the ACE Building.

The Minister said, “I applaud every student here, and their families, for making a significant investment in their future and recognizing the importance of personal and professional development to enable them to be competitive in today’s workforce.

“We, the Government, are equally committed to ensuring opportunities like the Summer Employment Programme continue, where you can gain significant experience, cultivate a strong work ethic, and propel yourself closer to your career goals.

“This year’s programme allowed 150 interns placement in their area of study. Placements this summer have included Government, Private, and Non-Profit Sectors. Without these partnerships the Summer Employment Programme would not have been a success. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank you.”
