OJ Pitcher Wins Cricket Sportsmanship Award

July 20, 2014

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced that the winner of the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award for week 8 is OJ Pitcher of St. David’s CCC.

The BCB said, “In a hard fought and well played very close match both Captains did an excellent job in keeping both their teams focused on the task at hand and not allowing any situations during the game, umpiring decisions, fielding or batting errors, etc., to detract from a truly exciting match.

“The St. Davids players were gracious in defeat with both sets of players shaking hands at the end. The Umpires commended both Teams’ Captains and Coaches on the way the teams handled themselves making it a real pleasure to officiate. OJ’s leadership in defeat was a great example of sportsmanship.”
