National Academy Teams Continue In Florida

August 16, 2014

The Bermuda Football Association’s Academy group featuring the 2001-2003 Boys and Girls from the 2001-2003 birth year have settled into the routine and environment on campus at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Following breakfast the players were put through a session focused on passing and receiving under the direction of the BFA coaches.

After lunch the group attended a very informative lecture on nutrition and fueling for performance, presented by registered dietitian from the IMG staff.

The presentation is very timely, and it is hoped the players will take heed of the information and it will have an effect on their meal choices for the week.

The afternoon training session with the IMG coaches centered on the principles of attack and possession play:

  • - playing the ball on the ground
  • - minimizing touches
  • - moving the ball away from pressure
  • - creating depth and width in support of building an attack

After dinner the group were able to participate in matches against the IMG campers:

The training camp will continue with training sessions and a presentation on Leadership, before giving the players a break to enjoy an outing of go karts, rock climbing, laser tag and video games at Livingston’s Amusement Center.
