Cyclists Mayho & Mitchell Compete In Scotland
The eleventh and final day of the 2014 Commonwealth Games saw Bermuda’s cyclists Nicole Mitchell and Dominique Mayho both compete in the road race in heavy rain.
Mitchell was pulled off the course after 4 laps with 3 to go. She was in 43rd place when she was forced to stop due to a mechanical problem while on the steep hill climb, which saw the field pull away while she attended to the issue.
Mayho also did not finish, however was in the top 50 when he was pulled off the course, as according to the Games rules, once riders were behind the leader by more than minutes they were pulled off the course. However, there were 140 riders who went to the start line, and Mahyo managed to finish in the top 50.
