Junior Fishing Tournament Rescheduled
With 145 kids signed up for this weekend’s Bermuda Anglers Club Junior Fishing Tournament, the tournament organizers said they have been “agonizing” over the weather forecast for Sunday.
Tournament Director Kip Froud said, “While the event is on a rain or shine basis, current forecasts have the wind gusting in excess of 30 knots on Sunday, and that isn’t exactly child friendly conditions to be fishing in, irrespective of whether you are fishing in a boat or off the rocks”.
In the interests of safety and a fun event the Bermuda Anglers Club has taken the decision to reschedule this Sunday’s Junior Fishing Tournament. The event will now be fished on Sunday 31 August 2014 with prize giving on Saturday 6 September 2014.
Froud notes “while we know rescheduling is tough on those kids who were looking forward to fishing this weekend, we hope next weekend should bring better weather and hopefully more fish”.
“If parents or juniors have any questions they can contact the Bermuda Anglers Club on Facebook, email the Club at bacajft@gmail.com or call the Club on 337 6065.
“And, of course, the Club will continue to accept entries for the rescheduled date of 31 August 2014.
