Premier Meets “Bermuda Salute” Soca Artists

This afternoon [Aug 29], at the invitation of Spectrum Global Entertainment, the Premier and Minister of National Security, Michael Dunkley met with the musical artists who will be performing in tomorrow’s Bermuda Salute concert at Tiger Bay.

The Premier met with soca artist Destra Garcia, also known as the “Queen of Bacchanal” and Konshens Do Sumn.

Local artists who will also be taking part in tomorrow night’s concert, including MC and comedian Nadanja Bailey, were also on hand today.

Premier Dunkley, who said the concert was an “exciting and great way to wind down the summer”, also presented Destra and Konshens Do Sumn with a copy of the photographic book, Generations Apart, created by local photographer Ally Lusher. Tomorrow’s show kicks off at 7.30 p.m. at Tiger Bay.

      How often was Paula Cox out among the people if not to collect some meaningless award? How often was Ewart Brown out without a paid entourage?

      If John Swan as Premier wanted to walk anywhere in Hamilton he needed to plan for an hour per block, he was so with the people.
