Registration Opens For Clarien Kids Triathlon
Registration is now open for the 26th annual Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon, set to be held on September 20 at Clearwater Beach in St. David’s.
A spokesperson said, “Kids aged three through 15 are invited to participate with a chance to swim, bike, and run to win the competition. Kids competing in the 11-15 category can compete to win up to $1,000 in scholarship funds. There will also be a carnival filled with fun castles, face painting, and food.
“Registration is available online only and is capped at 400 participants. Online registration and additional event information is available online.
“Registration for Tiny Tots, ages 3-6, is $8. Registration for all other participants, ages 7-15 is $15. All registrations received by 5.00pm on September 12 will be entered into a draw for two custom fit bicycles courtesy of Bicycle Works.
“Final registration closes at 6.00pm on September 19, or once the maximum capacity of 400 registrants has been reached.”
“The Triathlon race will see boys and girls aged 11-15 compete in a 200 meter swim, a five mile bike, and a one mile run. Boys and girls aged 7-10 will compete in a 100 meter swim, a 2.5 mile bike, and a 0.5 mile run. Tiny Tots, covering ages 3-6, will compete in a 10 meter swim, a 250 meter bike, and a 50 meter run.
“All participants must be ages 3 to 15 on December 31, 2014. Children turning 7 or 11 before December 31 will be required to register in the next age group category.
