Video: Plastic Tides Releases Second Episode
Following up on their original video release, the Plastic Tides crew – a team that works to bring awareness to the issue of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans – continues their look at Bermuda, resulting from a 10-day expedition around the island that was completed earlier this year.
In episode two of “Plastic Tides,” the team continues with their paddle around Bermuda, beginning their scientific experiments on ocean plastics and discovering what plastic lurks in the ocean. As they set off on their paddle boards, they also encounter rough seas and some other difficulties.
The team’s work intends to expose the “rampant plastic pollution” that threatens Bermuda and the unique ecosystem of the Sargasso Sea in general; the video points out the fact that, of the more than 200 million pounds of plastics produced around the globe each year, about 10 percent of it ends up in the world’s oceans.
Besides surveying, the team also took the time to visit local schools, using games, talks, and the organisation of beach clean-ups in order to bring awareness of the issue to Bermuda’s children.
The second episode of Plastic Tides was produced by Quiet Sun Productions, with on-island production services from Burnt House Productions, and edited by Method Media Bermuda.

“rampant plastic pollution”?!? I hope they don’t make up stuff for their video.
Why would they need to make plastic pollution up? Do some research and you would know its a world wide problem.
Tough Love – don’t be silly. Just go down to the beach any old day and see the plastic that has washed up on our beaches.
