Football: Somerset Trojans & Dandy Town Win

The Dudley Eve Cup competition continues, with Somerset Trojans defeating Hamilton Parish 3-1 and the Dandy Town Hornets defeating Flanagan’s Onions 2-0 in the latest round of play.

Somerset Trojans Defeat Hamilton Parish 3-1

At the Police Field, the Somerset Trojans went ahead after just 7 minutes when Damon Swan found the back of the net. The lead was doubled in the 41st minute when Trevin Ming scored. On the stroke of half time Tahj Wade scored to give the Somerset Trojans a 3 – 0 lead at the break.

The second half saw the heat take its toll on some Hamilton Parish players with cramp being the biggest challenge, despite the challenges they managed to get back into the game with a goal off the head of MacQuille Walker in the 80th minute, but the Somerset Trojans were able to manage the game and advance to the Semi-Finals.

Dandy Town Hornets Defeat Flanagan’s Onions 2-0

Despite losing 2-0 to the Dandy Town Hornets, the Flanagan’s Onions are through to the next round of the Dudley Eve, with the team going in knowing that anything less than a 3-0 loss would secure them passage to the next round.

After a scoreless first half the Dandy Town Hornets finally broke the deadlock in the 70th minute when Clay Darrell scored, Tomiko Goater doubled the Dandy Town Hornets lead in the 89th minute, as they came away with a 2 – 0 win and both teams advanced to the Semi-Finals.
