HSBC, Centre To Host Charity Golf Classic
HSBC, in partnership with The Centre on Philanthropy, will be hosting its first annual Charity Golf Classic, a fundraiser in support of strengthening the Bermuda community
The tournament will be held at the Port Royal Golf Course on October 17th following the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. Tournament participants will have the unique opportunity to play on the same course played by the Grand Slam Pros.
Twenty-five foursomes are open to members of the community, with a $2,000 registration fee per foursome which includes greens fees, carts, continental breakfast, lunch buffet and tournament prizes.
$1,000 of each foursome’s registration fee will be donated to the local registered charity of their choice and HSBC, has committed to match all donations made. The tournament will start at 8.30am, shotgun format.
Participants can select any local charity to be the recipient of their donation, and HSBC will match every donation, therefore doubling the impact. Local golf enthusiasts can also use the opportunity to test their skills on a very challenging course, and see how they measure up against the PGA pros.
HSBC CEO Richard Moseley stated, “We are grateful for The Centre on Philanthropy’s support in helping organise the charitable donation process and we look forward to further strengthening our community relationships through this event.”
Elaine Butterfield, Executive Director, The Centre on Philanthropy states, “We are grateful and delighted by the interest and support demonstrated by HSBC Ltd. in their support for the third sector.
“HSBC’s commitment and contribution will go a long way in the effectiveness of the services provided through our helping services. Corporate giving programs such as this will ultimately change our community for the better. We sincerely hope that many will come out and show their support.”
