Reforestation: 200 Plants Donated In 40 Minutes
[Updated with video] The community responded tremendously to today’s [Oct 30] reforestation sapling donation, which allowed residents to select one free native and endemic plant to help restore the island’s unique landscape damaged by the recent storms.
Clarien initially offered 100 Bermuda Cedar, Palmetto and Olive Wood saplings to be planted, but increased the offering to 200 in order to accommodate the overwhelming response. All 200 plants were donated within the first 40 minutes of the event.
Michael DeCouto, CMO Clarien Bank, commented: “We admire the courage and resiliency of the entire community and thank everyone in joining us in the commitment to help make Bermuda green again.”
