Nov 25th: Free Seminar On Unclaimed Property

November 18, 2014

KRyS Global, a boutique fraud investigation and asset recovery firm, and AssetMine Global Inc., invite Bermuda residents and companies to learn more about escheatment and recovering unclaimed property located in jurisdictions around the world, outside of Bermuda.

The company said, “On Tuesday 25th of November, the firm will host a free informative seminar from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the C&W Room at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] in Crow Lane, Hamilton. Following a short presentation, claimants will be able to meet one-on-one with qualified asset recovery professionals and ask any questions they may have in a confidential setting.

“‘Unclaimed Property’ is the term given to financial assets that have not been collected by their owners after a legally defined period of time. These assets could be in the form of dormant bank accounts, tax refunds, undeposited stock, uncashed cheques, insurance policies, pension monies, brokerage accounts, inheritances, etc.

“Unclaimed property may eventually be escheated to local governments. Asset Mine collects owner information from these governments and other sources around the world in an effort to reconnect them with their property. Some governments do not disclose the amount of assets held which remain hidden until the legal owner has initiated a claim.

“Many Bermuda residents will have already received correspondence from KRyS Global regarding assets that have been identified as belonging to them, and they are encouraged to attend this seminar to learn more about the claims process.”

“However we are aware that one reason these assets remain unclaimed are changes in addresses and where contact information becomes outdated. It is for this reason that we are reaching out to the broader community and inviting those that are interested to learn more to attend this event.” said Mathew Clingerman, Managing Director of KRyS Global’s Bermuda office.
