Young Chef To Appear On MasterChef UK
A young chef with a Bermuda connection is set to appear on UK television’s Junior MasterChef this week, competing against against 23 other young kitchen masters in a bid to become this year’s champion.
Judah Smith-Steede, the son of Bermudian Kara Smith, will appear on an episode of the show on Friday, November 14, while the series itself begins today [Nov 10] at 4.30pm on CBBC.
The promo for Friday’s show said, “Junior MasterChef is on the hunt for the best young cook in the country. From thousands of applicants, 24 passionate cooks aged between eight and twelve are bidding to become this year’s champion.”
“The four cooks must wow judges John Torode and Donal Skehan in order to earn a semi-final place. Their first test is to create their ultimate pizza from a range of mystery ingredients, in just 50 minutes.”
“The contestants are given the dough and three trays of different ingredients to choose from: one for the sauce and cheese, one for the toppings and one for any extras they may like to add.”
“First, John and Donal go head to head to show viewers at home their version of the perfect pizza. Then it’s the turn of the young gastronomes; will the contestants be able to show creativity, imagination, and flair?”
“Next the four contestants have one hour to cook their own favourites in an attempt to impress and grab that all important semi-final place.”
With dishes including chicken roulade, grilled halloumi salad and chocolate fondant on the menu, the judges face a deliciously difficult decision.”
