Young Life Bermuda Celebrates 50th Anniversary
Young Life Bermuda is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an alumni reception. All camp and club alumni, former and current committee members, trustees, volunteers, and club leaders are invited to join them at BUEI on Tuesday, December 2nd, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, to celebrate this milestone.
This reception will offer all those with Young Life at heart the opportunity to catch up with old friends, as well as giving the chance to hear about what Young Life Bermuda is doing now, as well as their exciting plans for the future.
Young Life Bermuda Director Kevin Mahoney explains, “We want to bring all alumni together – past and present. This will give everyone a chance to see what Young Life Bermuda has been up to, and learn about how they may be able to get involved in the Young Life of today. We also have some big plans moving forward that we would like to share with everyone”
Young Life Bermuda was the vision of former Bermuda Olympian Francis ‘Goose’ Gosling, and was first established in Bermuda in 1964. Having visited a Young Life camp in Colorado, Goose was so challenged by their passion for sharing God’s love with the campers, in a relatable way, that he brought their vision back to our shores. Soon after, Bermuda had its first Young Life club, which was followed by weekly Young Life clubs island-wide, reaching out to our High School friends.
The BUEI reception will feature messages from former Young Life Area Directors, raffles, video presentations, as well as special giveaways. Canapés and refreshments will be provided.
