Butterfield Donates $5,000 To Salvation Army

December 18, 2014

The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited recently presented The Salvation Army with a $5,000 donation; the proceeds of its employee Holiday Raffle ticket sales.

During December, Butterfield employees had the opportunity to purchase $1 Holiday Raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes, including vacation days, a travel voucher, retail gift certificates and Apple products. All the funds raised through ticket sales were donated to The Salvation Army.

Michael Collins, Senior Executive Vice President noted, “Our goal in coordinating this initiative was to create a bit of Holiday cheer and celebrate with our employees who have worked so hard during the year. Because we are always looking for opportunities to help in the community, it seemed fitting to donate the proceeds of the raffle ticket sales to The Salvation Army. I would like to thank our employees for their generosity.”

Major Frank Pittman from the Salvation Army said, “We are extremely grateful for the $5,000 donation. Special thanks to the Butterfield staff members who supported this initiative in such large numbers. The donation represents the shared values and commitment of both The Salvation Army and Butterfield staff to the social needs of our community. It’s on behalf of those we serve that I offer my sincere thanks.”
