Premier, First & Corona League Football Results
Footballers in the Premier Division, First Division and Corona League were all in action this weekend, with Robin Hood, Devonshire Cougars, Dandy Town, Hamilton Parish, BAA, Boulevard Blazers, Paget Lions, Flanagan’s Onions and Tuff Dogs all earning wins.
Premier Division
Robin Hood 4 St. George’s Colts 1
In this Premier Division match at the BAA Field, Robin Hood went in front early when Antwan Russell scored from the penalty spot, however before the celebrations had finished the St. George’s Colts were level when Damon Darrell scored. Robin Hood would go back in front with a Alex Martin goal just prior to half time.
Liam Evans gave Robin Hood a two goal lead when he scored in the 65th minute making the score 3 – 1. Russell scored his second goal of the game in the 78th minute as Robin Hood came away with a 4 – 1 win over the St. George’s Colts.
North Village Rams 0 Devonshire Cougars 3
At the Bernard Park, Domico Coddington scored early to give the Devonshire Cougars a 1 – 0 lead over the North Village Rams. Moses Steede doubled the Devonshire Cougars lead. The Devonshire Cougars got a third goal with Charmari Burn scoring as they recorded a 3 – 0 win over the North Village Rams.
Dandy Town Hornets 5 Flanagan’s Onions 3
At the St. John’s Field, Martel Laws gave the visiting Flanagan’s Onions the lead, but the Dandy Town Hornets were level a short while later with a Damon Ming goal converted from the penalty spot. Minutes before the half time break the Dandy Ton Hornets took a 2 – 1 lead with a goal from Clay Darrell. Minutes into the second half, the Flanagan’s Onions were level with a goal from Darren Thompson. Darrell put the Dandy Town Hornets back in front, but Vincent Minors Jr. equalized yet again for the Flanagan’s Onions. The Dandy Town Hornets with a man advantage following the sending off of Keston Lewis took the lead yet again when Jahtino Richardson-Martin scored. Angelo Simmons found the back of the net minutes before the end of the game to earn the Dandy Town Hornets a 5 – 3 victory.
Hamilton Parish 1 PHC Zebras 0
After a scoreless first half, Hamilton Parish went ahead 1 – 0 when Ryan Tyrell found the back of the net to earn them a 1 – 0 win over the PHC Zebras.
First Division
St. David’s 0 Devonshire Colts 2
After a scoreless first half at Lord’s in St. David’s, Lorzendro Symonds scored a 25 yard volley to give the Devonshire Colts a 1 – 0 lead over St. David’s. Symonds scored his second goal of the game in injury time earning the Devonshire Colts the 2 – 0 win.
Young Men Social Club 0 BAA 4
After a scoreless first half at the Bernard Park, Joshua DeSilva gave BAA the lead in the 56th minute, LaQuan Thomas doubled the lead in the 62nd minute, six minutes later Thomas made it 3 – 0 and Josh Hardtman closed out the scoring with a goal in the 71st minute as BAA defeated the Young Men Social Club 4 – 0.
Boulevard Blazers 3 Somerset Eagles 0
At the Police Field, Ian Coke scored twice and TiaVince Douglas added the other as the Boulevard Blazers defeated the Somerset Eagles 3 – 0.
Paget Lions 2 Ireland Rangers 0
The Paget Lions picked up their first win of the season with a 2 – 0 victory over Ireland Rangers at the Southampton Oval. The Paget Lions got goals from Y-won Astwood and Danzil Smith.
Corona League
Flanagan’s Onions 7 Lobster Pot 1
In the opening Corona League game of the day, the Flanagan’s Onions defeated Lobster Pot 7 – 1, Flanagan’s Onions got 4 goals from Stewart Foster, 2 goals from Paul Goodyear and a single strike from Andy Forster. Matthew Steede scored the lone goal for Lobster Pot.
Tuff Dogs 2 Robin Hood 1
Tuff Dogs went a goal down and a man down but came from behind to defeat Robin Hood 2-1. An own goal gave Robin Hood the lead, but Tuff Dogs goalkeeper Cal Thomas scored from the penalty spot to level the score at 1-1. Wolde Place score a 40 yard rocket to give the Tuff Dogs the 2-1 win.
Vasco picked up a rare Corona League win when they defeated the North Village Rams 3 – 2. Quincy Aberdeen, Kevin Arruda and Ricardo Medeiros all scored a goal each for Vasco, Juwan Thomas and Aljame Zuill scored for the North Village Rams.
