Santa Claus To Visit The General Post Office
On Thursday, December 11th 2014, the Bermuda Post Office [BPO] is offering primary and nursery age children and the young at heart the opportunity to have a photo taken with Santa Claus.
The event will take place on Thursday, December 11 from 10am to 4pm at the General Post Office [GPO] foyer in Hamilton. These photos will be placed on a personalized Christmas postcard which can be mailed in a special red mail box located in the GPO lobby. The postcards are $2.00 for the photographer plus postage – 35. cents for local postage and up to 95. cents for overseas, according to zones.
A BPO spokesperson stated that, “This initiative is primarily designed to encourage children to write holiday greetings, to teach them how to correctly address a post card, to experience the postal mailing process and to allow the children to have fun with Santa.”
“Invitations were extended to schools. However all are welcome. There are still blank cards available for those persons who wish to participate and to send a personalized postcard to someone special.”
“There will be holiday music playing in the background, complimentary glass candy, popcorn and homemade cookies for the children to enjoy. Santa has informed us that he is looking forward to meeting the children and he that he is on a very special diet to ensure that he looks his jolly best for the occasion!”
