Woman Charged With Trespass & $41,000 Theft

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Dec 19], 55-year-old woman denied trespassing and stealing over $40,00 worth of jewellery.

Ms Carla Hunte pleaded not guilty to a change that on a date unknown between 23 August and 31 October 2014, she trespassed in a residence and stole jewellery valued at $41,560.

She also pleaded not guilty to handling goods worth over $2,000 whilst knowing or believing them to be stolen.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted bail at $5,000 and required a surety. Ms Hunte must return to Magistrate’s Court for trial in April 2015.
