BBBS To Host “Thank Your Mentor” Event
[Updated] Big Brothers Big Sisters [BBBS] of Bermuda is getting set to host their “Thank Your Mentor” Day celebration in order to commemorate the end of Mentoring Month in Bermuda, with the event to be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the City Hall steps from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
A spokesperson said, “We will be inviting other mentoring agencies, dignitaries, donors, and members of the Bermuda community to come out and celebrate with us. During this event we will highlight our matches and will also be naming our Bigs [Mentors] of the year.
“Our Littles will be actively involved throughout the programme and the Minister of Community, Culture and Sports Patricia Gordon-Pamplin is also scheduled to say a few words.
“We hope to see you there. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move to the City Hall foyer. Friendship makes a big difference.”
Update Jan 28, 4.04pm: BBBS has decided to postpone the event, with a spokesperson saying, “Due to the uncertainty with island conditions at this present time an executive decision was made to postpone the Big Brothers Big Sisters ‘Thank Your Mentor’ event scheduled for tomorrow [Jan 29].
“The new date will be Thursday, February 12.”
