Report: “Citizen Of Bermuda” Arrested In Guyana

January 25, 2015

[Updated] According to a report from the Guyana press, a “female citizen of Bermuda” was arrested on Saturday [Jan 24] at the Guyana airport after she was suspected of having ingested narcotics, and she has so far “passed out a number of pellets” that contain cocaine.

The report said, “A female citizen of Bermuda was arrested on Saturday, January 24 arrested by ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport after she was suspected of having ingested narcotics.

“She has been admitted under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation [GPHC] and has so far passed out a number of pellets that contained a total of 392 grams of cocaine. The unnamed woman remains at the hospital as investigations continue.”

Bernews has contacted both the Bermuda Police Service and Guyana Police Force in an attempt to independently clarify this report, and will update as able.

Update Jan 26, 7.04am: The Guyana media have now named her, and said she is a 23 year old Bermuda woman. We are not repeating the name due to concerns about accuracy, as we believe the name as reported may possibly be spelled wrong, and also the street name they used for her address does not, to our knowledge, exist in Bermuda. We are still seeking official clarification and will update as able.

Don’t know where you got your information, but it does not hold water. How about a suspended sentence for $300 Million in drugs and weapons possession?
