Police Confirm Arrest Of 27-Year-Old Woman
The Bermuda Police Service confirmed that a 27-year-old woman is in custody and said they are “working closely with our international law enforcement partners and the appropriate authorities to progress the necessary processes.”
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] is aware of reports circulating on social media regarding an INTERPOL Red Notice relating to a Filipino national residing in Bermuda.
“The BPS can confirm that a 27-year-old female is currently in police custody. The matter is being progressed in close liaison with our overseas law enforcement and international policing partners.
“As this remains an active and sensitive matter involving international processes, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time. Accordingly, only limited information can be released while the necessary enquiries and legal processes are undertaken.
“The BPS wishes to reassure the community that this matter is being actively managed and that appropriate steps are being taken in accordance with local legislation and our international obligations.”
Acting Deputy Commissioner Antoine Daniels stated: “The Bermuda Police Service understands the level of public interest surrounding this matter. I wish to assure the community that we are working closely with our international law enforcement partners and the appropriate authorities to progress the necessary processes. However, given the sensitive nature of the matter, it would be inappropriate to release further details at this stage.
“I would also encourage members of our community to exercise restraint and responsibility when discussing this matter, particularly on social media. Bermuda is a diverse, inclusive and welcoming community and it is important that the actions or allegations concerning any one individual are not used to unfairly judge or stigmatise an entire nationality, ethnic group, or community. Respect, fairness and dignity must remain at the forefront of our discourse.”
The spokesperson said, “The BPS encourages members of the public to rely on verified information from official sources and to avoid speculation that may cause unnecessary concern or prejudice ongoing proceedings.
“Anyone with information relevant to this matter is encouraged to contact the Bermuda Police Service through the usual reporting channels. Further updates will be provided when it is appropriate to do so.”
This follows after social media posts alleging that a woman, who is wanted in the Philippines in connection with murder of a House of Representatives employee in 2025, was said to be in Bermuda.
