Reminder: New Work Permit Policies On March 1

February 27, 2015

The Minister of Home Affairs Michael Fahy is reminding businesses and the general public alike, that the new Work Permit Policies 2015 will be effective at March 1, 2015.

A spokesperson said, “The public should pay special attention to the Policies since they have been slightly amended to account for the internal administrative processes at the Department of Immigration and the policy on partners of Bermudians, PRC holders and work permit holders. All persons are encouraged to go to the Department’s website at immigration.gov.bm to view the guidelines.

“Other initiatives for March 1, 2015 include a new Business Visitors line at the L.F. Wade International Airport and new Work Permit Cards. With respect to the Work Permit Cards, cards will only be issued to standard, global, new business, and periodic work permit holders, and sponsored dependants; not to short term permit holders.

“The Work Permit Policies and all application forms and fees will be uploaded on the website by March 1.”
