February 9, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Feb 9] , 24 year old Rayshun Edwards and 18 year old Shakari Edwards faced charges related to an alleged burglary in Southampton earlier this month.

Both defendants did not face the exact same charges, however between the pair they pleaded not guilty to charges including stealing $2,200 worth of electronic devices, clothing, and food from a house in Southampton; stealing a cycle; prowling about the residence; and unlawfully wounding the house’s resident.

These incidents were alleged to have occurred on 3rd February 2015.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Rayshun Edwards into custody, and granted Shakari Edwards $5,000 bail, required him to wear an electronic monitoring device, abide by a curfew and report to the Hamilton Police Station on a set basis.

Trial was set for June 2015.
