Woman Fined In Court For Unlicensed Pit Bull

March 19, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Mar 19], 25 year old Leah Lindo plead guilty to keeping an unlicensed dog, a red pit bull, at her residence in Paget on August 2014.

The DPP Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that, responding to information, the Dog Warden had gone to Ms. Lindo’s residence and that the landlady had called Ms Lindo to come home. On coming back, Ms Lindo brought the dog out from inside the apartment.

On scanning for a license chip, the Dog Warden found no chip. The Magistrate fined Ms Lindo $500.

RIP Ourel! Amazingly nice dog! He lived with a yorkie and they were best of friends! Goes to show you, its all about how you raise a dog! He even wanted to play with the dog wardens! But knowing bermuda. All they want to do is highlight the negative! So sad! She was the best owner to him & raised him on her own!!

hmmm no mention of the dog being confiscated and put down for being a dangerous breed…just a 500 dollar fine…where is this menace to society killer at now..? *#@* it!!! i’m getting a pitbull…

Do my fish in my tank need to be licensed to? This is ridiculous its a friggin animal maybe we should start putting chips in people since they do more harm.

I hope the dog is returned to the owner unharmed. All dogs need is proper health care and daily food, if you do that then a dog will not harm people unless trained to do so. Leave our 4 legged friends in peace.

    • WHY says:

Dog was euthanized that same day — she wasn’t even given time to make arrangements to ship the dog off island
