Darts Knockout Team Championships Held
This years Darts Knockout Team Championships, were held on Monday 23rd February at Vasco da Gama Club on Reid Street, with a great turnout from all the Clubs, & even some very enthusiastic spectators.
This event requires each team to have 5 players instead of the usual 4 players, as in regular league play. The format is all singles games with first to win 2 legs, from 501 with a double finish, & the games are all played as drawn down the score sheet.
With 10 teams registered in the League, it was necessary to get down to 8 teams, for a straight quarter-final bracket.
This was done by all teams placed in a hat & the first four teams that came out formed the Preliminary round.

SBC 1 vs SBC 2
in the Battle of West End supremacy Sandy’s B.C. 1 reigned supreme, with a victory over there Clubhouse rivals winning 3 – 1
St Georges D&S Club vs Vasco da Gama
Vasco da Gama were the winners of this close encounter winning the deciding leg to squeeze a narrow 3 – 2 victory.
Quarter-Finals
SBC 1 vs Docksiders Bulldogs
Bulldogs were too much to handle for the West end club, as they went through to the Semi-Finals with a 3 – 0 victory wins for Steve Hickmott over Marc Siese, 2-1, Carl Martin over Aaron Carvelho 2-1, John Orr over Steven Almeida 2-1.
Docksiders Renegades vs S.P.B.C
Spanish Point won 3 – 0
Docksiders Filipino’s 2 vs Vasco da Gama
Docksiders Filipino’s 2 came out with a comprehisive victory 3 -0, with wins for Freddie Albarido over Marco Pacheco 2-0, Elisio Eubenga over Mario de Silva 2-0, & a 109 Finish for Willie Mendoza in his win over Marcho Pacheco 2-1.
Sub Aqua Club vs Docksiders Filipino’s 1
Sub Aqua came out on top with a 3 – 0 Victory, Wins for Stephen Decouto over David Coddrington 2-1, Ian Smith over Patrick Robisio 2-1 & with Nelson Almeida hittng the Winning dart against Many Real in his 2 -1 win.
Semi Finals
Docksiders Filipino’s 2 Cruised into the final with a 3 -0 defeat over Spanish Point B.C wins for Chris Caco over Guy DeSilva 2-0, Rodel Lorenzo over Shawn Johnson 2-0 & Freddie Albarido over Victor Maito 2-0.
Docksiders Bulldogs came out winners over Sub Aqua Club with Simon Carruthers over Ian Smith 2 -0, John Orr over Stephen DeCouto 2-0, Steve Hickmott over Peter Oliver 2-0.
This set up a Great final between the Leagues two in-form teams

The all-important draw was made to get the running order for the Match.
First up was Eric Lewis vs Rodel Lorenzo with Lorenzo winning 2-0. Game 2 was Simon Carruthers vs Cris Caco with Carruthers winning 2-1 & leveling the matchat 1 -1. Game 3 saw Carl Martin vs Elisio Eubenga with Martin winning 2-1 to give Bulldogs the a 2 -1 lead in the Match. This left Willy Mendoza in a must win situation in his match to tie up the match & send it to a deciding match.
Unfortunately for his team he couldn’t pull it off & lost 2 -0 to Steve Hickmott giving Victory, & the Title to Docksiders Bulldogs by a 3-1 scoreline.
