BEPRO National Heroes Day Writing Contest

May 23, 2015

With the deadline for submissions for the BEPRO National Heroes Day Writing Competition fast approaching, P6 students island-wide are being encouraged to submit original compositions answering the question, “What does being a Bermudian hero mean to you?”

“The essay competition has been designed by BEPRO board executives to encourage Bermuda students to acknowledge heroes in the local community and to help students understand the importance of National Heroes Day and the positive impacts made by local individuals through literacy,” a spokesperson said.

“Entries are to be received no later than Tuesday, June 8 at 5.00pm, and essays may be submitted via a drop box at the Chamber of Commerce. Students or teachers may drop off any entries before the competition deadline.

“Additionally, there will be prizes for the top three entries, with the winning essay to also be featured on Bernews, The Royal Gazette, Facebook via BEPRO and the BEPRO Instagram account.

“The winning student will also be presented their prize at a special assembly at their school, to be held during the week of National Heroes Day.”
