A spokesperson said, “The aim is to use the input to create a Local Plan for North East Hamilton that is developed and supported by the community. This will complete the process started some years ago by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation , working with community representatives.
“The Department of Planning has organized a series of events over May and June including hands-on workshops, presentations, and meetings in order to reach as many area stakeholders as possible.”
“Topics to be addressed during the consultation period include issues relating to building heights, land uses, streetscapes, parking and transportation.
“All events will be held at Magnolia Place, 45 Victoria Street, which is located at the corner of Victoria and Parliament Streets.
“The kick-off event will take place on Thursday, May 14 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Attendees will be given an overview of the process for developing a Local Plan for North East Hamilton and the various opportunities to participate.
“Workshop #1 will be held on Tuesday, May 19th from 6pm to 8pm.This workshop will focus on what participants like and dislike about North East Hamilton and explore opportunities for development.

“Meetings will be facilitated by Department of Planning representatives with support from the Corporation of Hamilton, and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC].
“There will also be additional feedback opportunities in the late summer when the Department of Planning will present a progress report on the Plan itself, and, again, during the legislated consultation period after the release of the draft plan release [expected late 2015/early 2016].
“The City of Hamilton Plan 2015, to be released in draft form this spring and finalised this fall, will be the ‘umbrella’ plan for NEH’s Local Plan.”
“The Department of Planning seeks to create a plan that is developed with and supported by the community that it is intended to serve,” explained Director of Planning Aideen Ratteray Pryse. “The intent of the Plan will be to manage and facilitate development in accordance with the community’s vision.”

Wish we could see something like this for St David’s and St George’s …
Can someone tell me what part is North East Hamilton? Where does it start and end to.
What a wonderfull idea coming from Planning as they do not have anything to do “NOW” and they need work to keep there positions.
They are giving people false hope and beating a dead horse.
Our economy is still going down and we are still borrowing $220Million dollars per year to keep the government going beside a huge debt.
There is at least Half a million square feet of office space available in town lots of houses apts and condos available.
So where is the money tree to finance this proposed project ??????
Somewhere under the hood.
Somewhere in Bobs crystal ball ! Maybe another PPP process like the airport ! Which parking lot can we use for collateral
