Island Games: Basketball Team Win 3 Games

[Updated] Bermuda’s Island Games basketball team — the defending champion — have recorded three wins thus far in the 2015 Island Games taking place in Jersey.

On Sunday [June 28] they recorded a 67 – 54 victory over Guernsey, and the following day they defeated the Isle of Wight by a margin of 81 – 49.

Bermuda — who is presently sitting on top of the table in Group A — will take on Gotland today and the Faroe Islands on Wednesday.

Bermuda’s basketball team has an excellent track record in the Island Games, having won a medal in every Games since 2003, and winning gold in the past three Games in 2013, 2011, and 2009.

Update 1.22pm: Bermuda defeated Gotland 79 – 43 today, taking them to a 3-0 overall record and closer to another medal win.
