Trunk Show To Feature Local Festival Designers
The local designers involved in the upcoming Bermuda Fashion Festival will be holding a trunk show at Pier 6 on July 9, giving fashionistas the opportunity to view and purchase designs that were seen at the show itself.
The designers to be featured at the trunk show include LoveBomb Inc by Brittany Wolffe; Novah Swimwear by Madeline White; M-Sew by Meagan Wellman; GRACE by Courtney Clay; DBA by Alshante Foggo; Green Eggs & Yams by Khamari Greaves; Shelly Brock; and TABS Bermuda by Rebecca Hanson.
These designers have been mentored for the last four months by international designers as they prepare for the Local Designer Show on July 8.
The mentoring agreement included the local designers being sponsored by local companies through the Bermuda Fashion Festival, providing $1,000 to help with the development of their shows.
Designers were encouraged to seek further sponsorship beyond that.
A spokesperson said, “If you miss the Local Designer Show on Wednesday July 8 or want to get up close and personal with our local designers, you’ll meet those who presented in the show as well as other local designers.
“Shop the unique fashion pieces and get a head start on the latest local fashion statements.
“Trunk Shows are often held by artists and designers who make one-of-a-kind pieces. Loyal and high-fashion customers are often on the guest lists, and are often on the lookout for the next special item to add to their wardrobe.
“It’s called a Trunk Show because designers and boutique fashion sales reps would show up with a trunk or suitcase of clothes to hang and show off at the ‘pop-up’ style event.
“Next month’s Trunk Show at Pier 6 [lower level] is part of the Bermuda Fashion Festival and is one of several free events open to the public. It is on Thursday, July 9 from 11.00am until 3.00pm.”
