BRFU Holds AGM, Elects Executive Committee

June 26, 2015

The Bermuda Rugby Football Union [BRFU] held their Annual General Meeting recently with the entire Executive Committee being re-elected.

They will be joined for the 2015/16 season by Club Representatives Scott Devine [Police], Richard Howells [Renegades], Jonathan Lightbourne [Teachers] and Jamie Pooley [Mariners].

“Changes to the BRFU Constitution were also approved by the Members to reflect requirements for the BRFU’s charity status under the Bermuda Charities Act 2014, and the creation of the new position of Medical & Safety Officer,” the BFRU said.

“This volunteer position solidifies the BRFU’s commitment to the health and safety of all rugby players, and allows Shara Crunden, who was elected unopposed, to continue the development of programs she established last year which certified nine local coaches and players as World Rugby Level 1 Medics.

“Ms. Crunden will coordinate with World Rugby, NACRA, WADA and BSADA to implement player health, safety, welfare and anti-doping policies, as well as education and certification courses for Bermuda’s Senior and Youth rugby programs.”
