Bermuda Under-19 Show Sportsmanship
Bermuda Under-19 displayed good sportsmanship at the recent Rugby Americas North Men’s Under-19 XVs Championship by matching Cayman Islands’ numbers after they were reduced to 13 players through injuries.
Cayman won 46-36 in the fifth-place match, leaving Bermuda sixth in the tournament, which was held in Querétaro, México.
Bermuda Under-19 captain Dylan Sangster, who swapped jerseys with the Cayman captain after the game, said: “Cayman went down to 13 players unfortunately through injuries.
“We decided to match them out of love for the game.
“It was a really good game – the scoreline was high, just because of the numbers.
“We had a relatively new team. Most of these guys have only been playing for a year.
“Our growth has been exponential.”
